Steve Geary has worked with organizations around the world in a variety of industries and, through frequent speaking engagements and publications has become known as a leading expert on supply chain design and performance. His recent articles have appeared in distinguished
journals including The Harvard Business Review, Supply Chain Management
Review, DC Velocity, the Defense Transportation Journal, and the
International Journal of Production Economics. Steve is a Contributing
Editor at DC Velocity Magazine, and editor-at-large for the Supply Chain
Quarterly. He is a faculty
member and research associate of the Since 2002, Steve has been engaged in a broad range of projects across Aerospace and Defense. He works extensively with OSD’s Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics at the United States Department of Defense, in Aerospace and Defense commercial enterprises, and with the individual military services. He has done extensive research in Performance Based Logistics, and in October of 2008, along with Kate Vitasek, Steve published “Performance-Based Logistics: a Contractor’s Guide to Life Cycle Product Support Management.” His research interest focus is on aligning supply
chains to support the Combatant Commander’s strategic intent.
Currently Steve is providing technical and analytical support at the
Defense Logistics Agency to develop an enterprise staffing model for forward
presence personnel. Through 2006 and
2007, Steve spent the majority of his time on the ground in During his career, Steve has held executive positions
in manufacturing, materials management, business development, product
marketing, and product management. His prior employment experience includes
Teradyne, Inc., PRTM, Emerson Electric Co., and IBM. He has worked in the Mr. Geary holds a BS and a Master's in Industrial
